We are pleased to be advertising opportunities for band 3 Speech and Language Therapy Assistants for the Adult SLT community service. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our forward-thinking and supportive team and provide input to our patients in the Lincolnshire community. We deliver care to a variety of settings including patient homes, outpatient clinics, nursing and care homes. Please note there are two posts available at 22.5 hours a week but other hours may be considered. If your preference is for a full time post, there may be sessions available on the Ashby Ward, an 18 bed inpatient rehabilitation unit based at Lincoln County Hospital and provides for patients with acquired brain injuries and neurological conditions. Location preference can be discussed at interview but the posts need to meet the geographical needs of the service as we operate across Lincolnshire. We are highly committed to professional development and evidence-based practice, and there is support in the wider service from a range of clinical specialists. We have a well-established local AAC Service and The East Midlands AAC Regional hub based in Lincoln, with opportunities for training and joint working with AAC professionals from the hub. There is regular access to clinical supervision and CPD including countywide skill-sharing groups, and participate in improvement initiatives. Previous unsuccessful candidates will not be considered, please do not apply. Main duties Assist in the delivery of therapeutic programmes under the direction of a qualified Speech and Language Therapist, either in a 1:1 or group situation, taking responsibility for the welfare, health and safety of patients in their care. Prepare equipment and resources, making use of IT where appropriate. Lincolnshire is a wonderful place to live and work. The county is predominantly rural and there is something for everyone. At LCHG, we know diversity fosters creativity and innovation. We are committed to equality of opportunity, to being fair and inclusive, and to being a place where all belong. We therefore particularly encourage applications from candidates who are likely to be underrepresented in LCHG’ workforce. LCHG recognises the increasing demand for more flexibility in working practices in order to accommodate the personal goals and commitments that employees experience at different stages during their working lives. Flexible working opportunities such as part-time working, compressed hours, job shares, and hybrid working models can help staff to balance their personal and work commitments. Arrangements can be put in place if it can be shown that the needs of the individual can be balanced with those of the service and the impact on other team members, enabling the Trust to recruit and retain skilled staff, raise staff morale, reduce absenteeism and respond to changing service needs more effectively. We are an ambassador of a learning culture that will support the right individual to progress in their chosen career through an ‘earn while you learn’ apprenticeship programme.
