To be responsible for delivering the renal educational strategy, optimising learning and development opportunities to support a collaborative multi-professional workforce.
The educational lead will develop, plan and facilitate a university accredited renal course for renal nurses across the Southwest region.
The post holder will have a key role in developing and delivering short renal courses, both face to face and virtually in conjunction with higher educational institutes.
To develop and implement renal interest days to support the acquisition of renal knowledge for a diverse group of learners both locally and regionally.
To provide educational management and leadership to promote a positive culture for learning enabling the delivery of best practice to support all learners within a high quality learning environment.
To support the provision of educational programmes ensuring that high standards are monitored and maintained within the framework of clinical governance and that resources are utilised effectively and efficiently.

**Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as ‘Priority’ and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.**
- Plan, develop, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate renal educational programmes.
- Ensure a robust and accurate means of documentation and record-keeping of clinical training delivered or co-ordinated-to provide evidence of compliance with NHSLA and CQC standards.
- Demonstrate knowledge of contemporary clinical practice and liaise with the clinical educator to introduce changes to practice where this is proven to be beneficial and evidence based.
- Awareness of national and local policies and initiatives which impact on the delivery of the service.
- Ensure adequate provision of specific formal education programmes in response to identified needs.
- Negotiate with professional colleagues to encourage multi-disciplinary training and education.
- Audit the effectiveness of educational provision.

- Responsible for leading and coordinating training and education within renal services across the South West region.
- Ensure all students receive induction for the renal course, highlighting competencies, monitoring and compliance.
- Regularly undertake training needs analysis to determine education, training and CPD forecast demands.
- Manage course attendance and liaise with line managers to escalate any concerns regarding student attendance or conduct.
