Overall Purpose
To work as part of the Organisational and Staff Development team to support the:
Development and implementation of organisational design and leadership development strategies, projects and programmes in support of the University strategic plan and future workforce requirements

Development, design and delivery of a broad range of organisational and staff development initiatives to support cultural change across the University that will effectively engage managers and staff.
Principal Duties:
To work in partnership with departments to provide high level advice and consultancy analysing development needs and designing, delivering or organising delivery of appropriate activities to meet organisational, team and individual needs

To provide professional advice, guidance and support to all levels on leadership, organisational change and team development

To lead on the development and implementation of programmes to support key strategic initiatives around cultural change and leadership development including
- Leadership Development
- Workforce planning
- Organisational culture change
- Coaching and mentoring

To work collaboratively to support the development of career pathways, academic progression, promotion and career development processes and frameworks for key roles and team structures to support the delivery of the Middlesex strategy

To embed and actively promote our new approach to development conversations and to develop organisational standards and sustain a culture of regular development conversations and action that support our ambition to be a high performing organisation

To support with the development of our centre of excellence for coaching and mentoring practice and all related initiatives to foster a coaching culture across the University

To lead the development and implementation of OD systems and processes, including developing management and leadership capability and embedding the leadership framework into all people processes and systems

To proactively research organisational development best practice and benchmarking with other organisations to add value to our OD services

To maintain external links and represent the University on issues related to organisational development with networks, providers and higher education institutions

To promote equality of opportunity and support diversity and inclusion as well as working to support the University’s practices and policies

To work in partnership with the HR Business Partner team to ensure coherence between projects and programmes

12. To carry out any other reasonable duties within the remit of the role

To deputise for the Head of Organisational and Staff Development as appropriate
PERSON SPECIFICATION

Job Title: Organisational Development Consultant
Campus: Hendon
Grade:Grade 8

Experience
Essential:

- Degree or equivalent experience
- Membership of the CIPD or other relevant professional body
- Significant experience in organisation design and development and delivering a range of organisational development interventions to meet organisational needs including leadership development, workforce planning and coaching
- Experience of implementing talent management systems and competency frameworks
- Change management experience with the ability to manage complex and difficult OD projects to a successful conclusion
- Proven ability to design, deliver and facilitate learning programmes, lead tender
- processes and commission external providers
- Experience of leading and delivering projects, to schedule, to budget and high quality
- Experience of managing and delivering the full L&D life cycle from needs analysis through to evaluation at organisational, team and individual levels
- Experience of providing a consultancy service to managers and staff at all levels
- Experience of engaging managers and staff in staff development activities and initiatives
- Demonstrable experience of coaching and mentoring across a diverse workforce
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Ability to instigate new and innovative approaches and demonstrates an understanding of latest organisational development and learning methodology and practice
- Demonstrable ability to think strategically and implement plans for long-term success
Desirable:

- Masters degree or equivalent
- Experience of using psychometric assessment and development tools
- Coaching/mentoring qualification or equivalent experience
- Experience of working in Higher Education
