We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, skilled, and motivated SEND (Special educational Needs and Disability) Officers to join the SEND Assessment & Review team in Hull.

The SEND Assessment & Review Team is responsible for delivering and administering the Local Authority’s statutory duties regarding Education Health and Care assessments and plans for children and young people (age 0 -25).

The SEND Assessment and Review Team is going through a period of development, and this is an exciting opportunity for anyone who wants to help shape and influence the future success of a dynamic and growing SEND service.

As a SEND Officer you will support with the management of SEND case workers, including work allocation, supervision, appraisal and quality assurance ensuring that performance indicators are met.

You will have in depth knowledge of SEND policy, practice and the legal framework alongside knowledge and understanding of the role and remit of other professionals working with children and young people with SEND and their families.

You will work with parents/carers and young people to resolve concerns and disagreements as well as preparing cases for defence at the SEND Tribunal and be the named Local Authority representative at SEND Tribunal hearings.

You will have responsibility for line managing a team of SEND Caseworkers and SEND Assistant Caseworkers in what can be a challenging but rewarding environment.
