- Job description- An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Hertfordshire and North London Asset Performance team for 12 months. We are looking for an enthusiastic technical leader with an excellent understanding of whole life asset management and a proven track record in supporting our ambition of resilient assets.
This position plays an integral role to ensure our assets are resilient throughout their lifetime. You will work closely with our internal teams, external contractors, risk management authorities, and professional partners to ensure asset designs, operating plans, and contingency plans are in place and fit for purpose. You will embed learnings from any reviews or projects to ensure our designs are more resilient, understanding what the operations of assets are, both under normal and abnormal scenarios.
This is an exciting opportunity for strategic thinkers who thrive on using creative solutions to deliver complex portfolios of work to help reduce flood risk to local communities and protect the environment.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do. You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support. Full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you.
- The team- Asset management plays a huge part in the work that the Environment Agency does; helping to protect against flooding and minimising the risks caused by any floods that occur. The work we do directly and in partnership with others reduces flood risk to communities. We look after a diverse range of assets in our area and we are a mix of engineers, asset managers, data officers, and asset inspectors.
- Experience/skills required- You need to be a confident user of IT, especially products such as databases and excel. Experience with GIS programmes will be advantageous.
You must have excellent data/information extrapolation skills. You will need to pull out the required information from operational documents to ensure resilience of our assets and appropriate data/information is in place.
You will be a confident communicator so that you can work with internal and external colleagues to extrapolate information or showcase the new plans and processes to others to ensure end user viability.
You will be self-organised, self-driven and be able to work to deadlines.
