**BASIC SALARY**: Up to £40,000 dependent on your relevant experience

**JOB DESCRIPTION**: Buyer - procurement : raw materials, manufacturing

Our Procurement team works very closing with our planning department because you need to know what to buy and how much of it. We have over 1000+ different SKU's that we directly procure. You'll support our existing buyer, ease their workload and our relianceon them, and be involved in all areas of direct purchasing including raw materials, parts, and components. No two days will be the same.

This role is vital in the success of our business growth, so when you're established - we'll bring in a Junior Buyer to support you. Maybe even a Procurement Administrator too.

**YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**: Buyer - procurement : raw materials, manufacturing
- Drive down procurement costs / improve our existing supplier lead times / improve the quality of your suppliers / shake them up as you see fit
- Supporting our existing buyer who has a wealth of experience for you to learn from
- Ensure your raw materials/parts/components are ordered in a timely manner with full transparency of their lead time - there will be 1000's of different things being bought. Some are simple reorder generation. Others bespoke or one-off purchase orders.
- Raise / chase / close off PO's - we are looking at hiring an administrator to support on this in the short term too
- Improve our minimum stock levels to reduce our production risk
- Assist with the upkeep of our bespoke ERP system

**YOUR BACKGROUND**: Buyer, procurement, raw materials, manufacturing
- You will have cradle to grave procurement exposure within an engineering or manufacturing environment
- You will need experience in supplier management and improving lead times
- You will have excellent internal and external stakeholder skills working closely across departments
- You will be competent with an MRP / ERP System and have good Excel skills too

**THE COMPANY**:
We design our own niche electro-mechanical special purpose machinery and equipment.

We supply machines and equipment to the National Grid / Power Grid & smaller energy contractors. We also supply into multiple industry sectors such as Civil Engineering & Telecoms, so you'll be joining a very stable business within a strong industry sector.

**PROSPECTS**:
There is a genuine development opportunity here for you to come in as our new Buyer, development in a Senior Procurement role and then backfill your own job so you can mentor and develop the next new Buyer. We would hope that you are one day good enough tolead our Procurement team autonomously as our Procurement Manager.

It is highly likely you will have worked in any of the following roles and/or markets and worked with the following products and/or services: Buyer, buying, procurement, raw materials, MRP, ERP, Excel, FMCG, fast moving consumer goods, expediting, purchasing,Strategic Buyer, Procurement Officer, Procurement Manager, Senior Buyer.
