Macfarlane Design and Manufacture are a division of Macfarlane Group PLC.
We are seeking to appoint an experienced Senior Buyer to cover our Manufacturing site in Grantham Lincolnshire.
Our specialist manufacturing division designs and manufactures bespoke protective packaging solutions for customers that require protection for high value products during transit and storage. Our customers are UK wide and span a number of key markets including:Aerospace, Defence, Electronics, Industrial and Medical.
**Senior Buyer Role**
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will support the manufacturing division strategy to grow market share through innovation, excellent quality and service within a competitive environment.
**Key Duties**:

- Managing a large portfolio of suppliers
- Sourcing and negotiating with existing suppliers, challenging prices where relevant
- Ensuring suppliers adhere to quality, service, and best practice initiatives
- Participate in cost down initiatives with production & logistics
- Optimize stockholding volumes to balance cost/space/working capital
- Managing performance of the supplier base
- Initiating tenders, product enquiries and specialist project work
- Purchasing of standard and non-standard bespoke items
- Carrying out supplier benchmarking activities
- Reporting and statistical analysis
- Support Macfarlane Group PLC procurement strategy
- Maximizing profitability and minimizing risk to the Business
- Supporting stock control and administration activities
