What you'll do:
Viasat is seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator to support Viasat’s Energy Services Team within the EMEA region. Your responsibilities will be diverse, but you will be empowered to use your initiative and skills in a variety of functions. As the Logistics Coordinator you will liaise with internal departments, external customers and assist with the management of Viasat’s third party distribution (3PL) centers and transportation providers with end-to-end logistics processes that enable the movement of product throughout Viasat’s Global Supply Chain. This individual should have the ability to collect and analyze data to help improve the organization's supply chain activities, manage and prioritize work efforts in fast paced environment, and support the supply chain and local service and operation teams.

The day-to-day:
As a Logistics Coordinator, you will be responsible for transportation management, and logistics process improvement opportunities. You will be expected to review import/export documentation, forwarding and invoicing instructions based upon the customer or partner profile to ensure that products are delivered in a timely manner, with proper documentation to the receiving party and in compliance with all governmental regulations.
- Point of contact for internal and external inquiries within assigned geographic area to manage and assit with material movements that meet timeline and cost requirements.
- Prepare shipping and customs documentation as directed by Viasat Global Trade in compliance with legal and governmental regulations as required based upon the inbound/outbound shipments.
- Coordinate with Viasat Global Trade group on organizing certifications and shipment inspections for various international destinations as required.
- Review all shipping and customs documentation to ensure it is complete and accurate. Resolve all discrepancies with internal groups to ensure records are accurate and up to date.
- Ensure both internal and external customers are fully informed with all relevant information regarding their orders and shipments.
- Main point of contact for freight brokers and forwarders within assigned area.
- Assist with packaging of materials for shipment and receiving materials into warehouse as needed.
- Solicit and prepare transportation quotes
- Arranges transportation and orchestrates deliveries from vendors directly, from Viasat warehouses, or through our designated freight forwarders to meet customer demand with little to no delay.
- Prepares all necessary transportation documents required to process inventory moves and sales orders
- Ensures 3PL providers are executing all transportation moves in accordance with established service agreements
- Support accounts payable department to reconcile freight invoices
- Actively support operational process controls through regular activity and training with the Viasat Compliance Team, Product Management, Logistics, Sales, Finance, Marketing and Legal to keep the company compliant with trade and distribution regulations.

What you'll need:

- 3+ years of experience in a logistics & distribution, Supply Chain Management, or related responsibility (i.e. Demand Planning, Supply Planning)
- Fluent in English (any other language an asset)
- Knowledge of import/export regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Strong organization, oral and written communication skills a must
- Excellent follow up and customer service skills
- Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies
- Ability to work with little or no direction, multi-task in fast paced environments, can work independently and collaboratively as a team member to meet goals while maintaining an organized and systematic approach to task completion

What will help you on the job:

- Bachelors in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement or related field preferred
- Excel, SAP or a comparable ERP inventory management tool, and Transportation Management systems knowledge preferred
- Knowledge of reporting and analytical tools
- Knowledge of import/export regulations a strong advantage.
- High analytical aptitude capable of interpreting data to identify trends
- Advanced excel skills a plus
- Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally
