**Early Years Teaching Assistants required in Gateshead
About the role:
**The Education Network are actively seeking to recruit Early Years Teaching Assistants to work day-to-day, short-term, and long-term supply work in a number of our partnership schools in Gateshead and the surrounding areas. To work with usas an Early Years Teaching Assistant, successful applicants will need to understand the national curriculum, in order to ensure pupils receive the best educational experience. Working as an Early Years Teaching Assistant will give individuals the opportunityto make a difference to the lives of children and young people.**
**What this role will involve:
**As an Early Years Teaching Assistant you will be expected to work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups. As well as supporting the class teacher, you will be expected to take a 'hands on' approach, supporting children withtheir learning and development. When working with children and the class teacher, you will be expected to show, when working with children, the highest levels of enthusiasm.**

- Qualified to at least a level 2 in a relevant childcare qualification and/or support teaching and learning.
- Have previous experience working in EYFS (in the last 2 years) and understand the national curriculum.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff, students, parents/guardians.
- Have genuine enthusiasm and care for the development of children in an educational setting.
- Full understanding of safeguarding procedures and child protection methods and responsibilities.
- Be willing to complete registration with ourselves so that you are clear to work in primary schools from a compliance perspective.
- Have a full and clear DBS check preferably on the online update system (or be willing to undertake one).
- Have professional references that cover you for the last 2 years (one of which must be education based).
