**About the Service/Department**Your role sits within the Fundraising, Communications and Campaigns Department that delivers our external engagement strategy.The role holder will work closely with service users to ensure their personal experiences shape our communications and fundraising work.

In recent years, we have developed a strong track record with trusts and foundations and corporate partners. We work closely with our business development and operational teams to support local work.You will strengthen relationships between Hestia services across London and their local communities in order to raise funds and drive in-kind donations (e.g. Christmas present campaigns).

You will also coordinate local events that bring together our services, service users and local partners. Your role as part of a small team will involve organising and communicating with internal and external partners through every aspect of the event planning process.

**About the role**
Engage staff and service users in Hestia’s fundraising and communications, and support local services to hold fundraising and stakeholder events

Some other main responsibilities of the role include:

- Ensure donor records on our CRM system are up to date
- Support and oversee/manage volunteers
- Ensure key information and support flows through to staff in Hestia’s local services, working in close partnership with the Internal Comms team. This includes leading on the generation and maintenance of Fundraising and Communications pages on the Hestia Intranet.
**About you**
- Confident in speaking to people on the phone and in person
- Able to build relationships quickly and effectively with a wide range of people - from service users to chief executives and MPs
- Ability to work under pressure, plan and prioritise work effectively and meet deadlines
- Able to provide clear briefings for a wide range of audiences
- Finding solutions to problems in a positive way
- Ability to think creatively and use own initiative
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong IT skills Word and Excel in particular
- Willing to learn new IT packages/platforms including basic design software (Canva), our customer relationship management (CRM) system (Donorfy) and online platforms such as Eventbrite and our own website
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues and ability to address them appropriately

Desirable:

- Knowledge of how Local Authorities / Councils work
- Experience of working with local media
- Experience of working with community groups and frontline services
