We are seeking a highly skilled administrator to join our Rota Team team as a Medical Rota Coordinator, where you will join our team to ensure the provision of high quality patient care by efficiently deploying both senior and junior medical staff into our workforce.
As a Medical Rota Coordinator you will be involved in working with Junior Doctors and senior colleagues to create, implement and manage our Doctors rotas. You will also oversee the procurement of locum cover where vacancies occur; ensuring that at all times the most cost effective option is achieved.
- The post holder is required to undertake a combination of the following as part of their role:
- Oversee the medical staff rotas for the business group.
- Provide oversight of clinical absence management
- Manage medical recruitment for the business group
- Manage deanery allocations to anticipate gaps in
- Manage bank and agency requirements for the business group
- Support work force planning for medical staffing

- Oversee the administrative compilation of effective on-call consultant and junior doctor rotas, working with clinical leads and operational managers to deliver safe and cost effective care.
- Provide oversight of clinical absence management, ensuring timely records and escalation of issues to Clinical Directors/ Business Managers and/or Associate Medical Director/ Associate Director of Medicine where appropriate. Use established processes for the recording of absence for all staff. Report absence trends / triggers etc. to CDs / AMD to support the management of absence of medical staff in line with policy
- Oversee organisation for commencement of clinical colleagues, including induction and training.
- Oversee the Business Groups locum requirements working with the Temporary Staffing Team, to ensure that requests have appropriate detail, suitable applicants are promptly progressed, claims are correct and usage of locums is appropriate in accordance with the Trust policies and processes.
- Continued improvement of administrative working processes alongside clinical teams, enabling focus on areas for improvement and success. For example end to end process mapping and undertaking projects to improve efficiency / deliver targets.
- Undertake management of projects where delegated.
- Support the Business Group in its achievement of compliance against Appraisals & Essentials Training
- Provide administrative support to assessing risks as and when required.
If successful, this vacancy will require an standard DBS check at a cost of £18. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary. In addition to this it will be a condition of your employment that you will join the DBS update service and pay the annual subscription fee of £13.
