**The Role**
- **Payroll Assistant/Analyst (Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, London)**_
Purpose of the role/key responsibilities:
- Process more complex payrolls, seeking guidance where required from Payroll Advisor or relevant Payroll & Employment Tax Service Line - aid own technical development by researching solutions to problems
- Maintain technical knowledge of statutory payroll requirements for UK Tax, NI, SSP, SMP, SPP, pension administration, and develop an understanding of pension set up
- Complete tasks, with guidance from the implementation lead, to assist with the implementation of new clients and payrolls
- Prepare BACs payments for sending per audit requirements
- Complete allocated monthly control reviews to support the payroll audit requirements
- Maintain accurate and effective client process manuals
- Develop and maintain an understanding of all payroll team related software and produce ad-hoc reporting requested by client under supervision
- Investigate, resolve, and present responses to payroll correspondence and more complex client and employee queries via the Employee Helpdesk
- Manage own payroll allocation and highlight timescale/timing issues to supervising staff. Demonstrate awareness of timescales across the team and aid supervising staff in achieving deadlines where necessary
Experience and skill set required for the role:
- Previous payroll experience and exposure to working in a payroll role
- Experience of working to tight deadlines
- Experience of a client facing role
- Attention to detail
- Problem solving skills
- Good team player with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels
