We are currently looking for a talented and motivated **Senior Transport Planner **to join our team in Scotland. This role can be worked flexibly from our **Edinburgh** or **Glasgow** offices with a mix of office and home based working and the option to adjust start/finish times.

**What does the role involve?**

You will be leading the delivery of a wide variety of project tasks specifically related to traffic and transportation aspects. Typically the work is for a range of private and public sector clients covering a range of activities mainly related to transport planning, sustainable travel and traffic engineering.

**Core duties will include**:
Providing input across a range of Transport Planning projects e.g. development transport, sustainable travel, preliminary design, junction modelling, consultation and masterplanning.
- Providing generic analytical support across all teams where this falls within capability or where capability can reasonably be obtained.
- Maintaining client contact for project delivery and ensuring that project delivery meets the client’s objectives and requirements.
- Ensuring that the technical content of all work carried out is correct and completed in accordance within agreed timescales and budgets.
- Ensuring that all work is carried out in full compliance with the Company’s Integrated Management Systems (IMS).
- Providing technical guidance, support and training to colleagues and assist, where practicable, in mentoring and development of others.
- Working in close collaboration with colleagues from other disciplines as required.
- Participating in the preparation/presentation of proposals/bids as required including estimating timescales and costs for proposed works.

**To be successful in this role you’ll possess**:

- General Transport Planning skills, including but not restricted to, development transport, sustainable travel, transport appraisal (STAG, etc) traffic management and traffic engineering.
- Demonstratable knowledge of traffic modelling techniques and the interpretation of modelling results to identify real-world solutions which are practical, deliverable and cost effective. This includes microsimulation, network and isolated models.
- Demonstratable knowledge and/or experience of the financial and technical management of projects.
- The ability to communicate in a fluent and positive manner with clients and colleagues and to produce reports on behalf of the team in clear English.
- The ability to organise and prioritise workload to ensure that timescales are met.
- Good problem solving/contingency planning skills with ability to find quick, innovative and practical solutions.
- Effective negotiation and persuading skills, with the ability to manage and diffuse challenging situations.
- Working towards CTPP qualification or equivalent.
