We develop active travel policies and strategies, design cycle and walking infrastructure, analyse accessibility and inclusivity, and advise on behavioural change, bike sharing and wayfinding. We are seeking a diverse and experienced individual who can demonstrate transport planning, active travel, behaviour change and project management capabilities. We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who have a strong interest in the Planning, Design and Consultation of active travel schemes and who can demonstrate relationships with key stakeholders and work winning success in this field. The successful candidate should be able to work under clear instruction and independently, with a track record of winning, managing and delivering quality outputs aligned with project deadlines. In particular, the candidate should be able to demonstrate a knowledge of the local markets within Scotland. The successful candidate will become an integral part of an existing strong Cities, Planning & Design team across the North Is this role for you: Support senior management in delivering key projects and manage individual projects as Project Manager. Assist in and lead bids / submissions and work winning activities around all aspects of active travel. Provide technical and professional leadership / support, line management and mentoring of junior members of staff. Support the development and continued growth of the wider Cities, Planning & Design group in the North geography. Keep up to date with market developments, anticipate market changes, and assess opportunities for the expansion of services. Requirements and skills. Experience in transport planning with technical knowledge demonstrated across a range of areas, especially active travel, sustainable transport and behaviour change. Experience of writing and presenting technical reports, bids. Experience in stakeholder and community engagement and working within multi-disciplinary teams. Confident with proven interpersonal and communication skills. Able to manage workload and ability to carry out, delegate and check tasks to strict deadlines and budgets. Experience of participating in and leading meetings with transport agencies, operators, local authorities and private sector clients to demonstrate competence, understanding and a problem‑solving attitude. Proven experience of leading projects including all quality, commercial and Health & Safety aspects. Self‑motivated & ability to build and maintain client relationships. Proven business development experience. Degree qualification and chartered or working towards chartership in relevant institution CIHT/ TPP/ ICE or similar.
