Welcome & Service Assistant

Summary Working as one of our Welcome and Service Assistants you will be a key part in delivering a fantastic welcome to our visitors in the Ullswater valley. You will work as part of the Welcome Team alongside staff and volunteers to make sure Aira Force has aproperty welcome like no other.

This role will welcome visitors in the Aira Force car park, processing car park payments and helping visitors with all aspects of their day, from helping with directions and describing walking routes to assisting with activities and providing informationabout the history, flora and fauna of the site.

This role will require weekend and bank holiday working with an emphasis on working more during the school holidays.

What it's like to work here Ullswater valley is truly breath-taking, with its beautiful lake nestled amongst towering fells. The epic scenery and relative underdevelopment compared to other areas of the Lake District gives Ullswater a secluded and tranquil feel.

Our largest property in Ullswater is Aira Force, a showcase for the power and beauty of nature; it’s a place to escape the ordinary.

For 300 years visitors have been drawn here, where rainwater runs from the fells into Aira Beck and thunders in one 65-foot leap over the falls. Yet, Aira Force is much more than an impressive waterfall. A network of trails weaves its way from Ullswaterlakeshore to Gowbarrow summit, passing towering Himalayan firs, rare red squirrels, woodland glades, picnic spots and views out across Ullswater.

You will be the face of the National Trust in Ullswater. All of our profits go back in to looking after the beautiful valley and through our team fundraising, we raise money for projects to help our Ullswater Rangers do even more to look after such a specialplace, which you can be proud of forever.
- This role will mainly be based at Aira Force, but you may be asked to work in other locations with prior arrangement. _

What you'll be doing You will be working in our car parks welcoming our visitors and tailoring your service to meet their every need. You will be providing help and guidance on where to park and walking routes, as well as inspiring with your general knowledge of the site andarea. You will be processing payments for car parking and ensuring our visitors have all the information they need to have a fantastic day.

You'll help to keep the property looking great through signage checks, litter picking etc. As this is partially an outdoors role, you'll need to be comfortable working in all weather conditions.

- Can demonstrate an empathetic, understanding and adaptable approach to different people’s needs, with a passion to deliver the highest standards of customer care.
- Proven experience of working to measurable targets
- Good team worker
- flexible and adaptable and willing to grow experience and skillset across several different operation aspects of the property
- Skilled listener with great people skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Well organised and able to work with minimum supervision
