Infant Feeding Support Worker (Band 2) with progression to Band 3

We are looking for individuals who is passionate and enthusiastic about infant feeding and who possesses training, experience, skills and knowledge to support parents to feed their baby in line with the UNICEF BFI UK programme. As a member of the Infant Feeding Team you will contribute to the work to date on Oldham Care Organisation's journey towards achieving UNICEF Baby FriendlyAccreditation. You would be expected to demonstrate a commitment to best practice in all aspects of infant feeding through your own practical skills, training staff, monitoring/audit, and evaluation of the BFI standards from the antenatal to postnatal period under the guidance of the Infant Feeding Coordinator.

We are looking for one post to be filled by a person who not only has the training, experience, skills and knowledge but also speaks fluent URDU. The person who succeeds in obtaining this role will support non-English speaking families through targeted antenatal infant feeding workshops.

To provide infant feeding expertise to families and staff groups across Maternity, Neonatal and Paediatric Services and the wider hospital clinical environments where infant feeding support is required.

To participate in the Tongue Tie Assessment Service. This will be a rotated work day for all support workers who will cover each Wednesday 0730-1600 hours on a 1:3 or 1:4 basis; more often to cover colleague absences.

To participate in training and practical skills reviews for staff and interviewing parents for feedback on their experience

To participate in auditing and monitoring current processes

To lead on quality improvement projects
