An exciting opportunity has arisen for Production Leader to join our team in Derby as we have started to grow the team to meet the ramp up in demand.

You will be joining the Rotatives facility, responsible for the manufacturing of Shafts and Compressor Discs and Drums for our large Civil engines.

This is a demanding but a rewarding role where you will lead a team and will be accountable for ensuring that customer commitments are met in full, measured against agreed HS&E, quality, cost, delivery, people and responsiveness standards.

What you will be doing:
You will be responsible for delivery against weekly targets to meet the customer requirements. Your areas of responsibility will include:
- HS&E - Drive towards a performance and culture of Zero harm, ensuring our teams are trained and compliant to safety standards, driving environmental targets and promoting wellbeing.- Quality - Drive to zero defects and work with all functions to reduce risks and drive product and service right first time.- Cost - Develop and manage agreed people budget (headcount, productivity, absenteeism). Understand and manage the cell cost centre budget and work with the team to drive productivity.- Delivery - Deliver our products and services to the customer commitments on time. Plan load and capacity, manage bottlenecks, understand inventory levels and drive to meet business targets.- People - Optimise the capability and capacity of the cell by developing a flexible, trained, effective and motivated team.- Lean - Ensure that all the relevant Production System minimum standards are fully deployed and sustained within the business and coach the team to fully participate in continuous improvement.- Leadership - Inspire the manufacturing team to consistently deliver high levels of performance through facilitation, coaching and the demonstration of lean leadership behaviours.

These principles form our values and behaviours and are an essential component of our assessment process and are fundamental qualities that we seek for all roles.- Good understanding/knowledge of multiple disciplines demonstrating breadth of experience is required; experience and a thorough understanding of operating in a Production Leader role within a Manufacturing facility.- Good understanding of how the operating functions and processes drive performance and improvement, ideally with experience in a role involving cross-functional integration.- Experience of leading large shop-floor teams in unionised environment, with good evidence of effective engagement through communication, influence, and relationship management.- Good communication skills, interfacing with and managing multiple stakeholders at different levels in the Organisation and ability to influence decisions through sound analysis and judgement.- Good customer focus skills with ability to understand customer needs and deliver solutions to achieve customer satisfaction.- Experience delivering improved operational performance in both favourable and unfavourable conditions, utilising cross-functional teams and deploying continuous improvement methodologies (lean, ideally Six Sigma Green Belt accreditation or Lean Coach).- Good problem-solving skills with awareness to consider issues from a broad perspective and stakeholders and deliver effective solutions; experience of managing conflict and identifying resolutions.

Additionally, you need to be able to work on a 3-shift working pattern covering Mornings, Afternoons and Nights.
