**Role**:Volunteer Coordinator**
**Salary: 20 hours a week - £14,040 per annum**
- **Pro-rata: FTE 37.5 hours a week - £26,325 per annum**_

**Purpose of the Job**:
The Volunteer Coordinator will play a vital role in managing fifteen volunteer Parent/ Carer Champions. They will be asked to motivate and train parent/carers to provide befriending support for users whose children are at risk of exploitation. They will also be familiar with the London Borough of Hillingdon and its service provision.
**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Working closely with the Volunteer Programme Manager (VPM) to manage the project
- Contacting referred service users for a pre-evaluation and post evaluation interview by telephone
- Matching the Parent/Carer Champions (PCCs) to the appropriate service user
- Involved in the recruitment of PCC volunteers, with the VPM
- Organising and co-hosting an online induction with the VPM for the PCCs
- Organising and overseeing the volunteer programme training for the PCCs
- Providing ongoing support to the PCCs through regular check ins
- Ensuring support takes place as scheduled
- Working with the VPM to educate service users regarding the social care system
- Ability to engage with diverse and marginalised communities.
**GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Ensure the welfare and safety of participants is maintained throughout all activities
- Ensuring PCCs evaluations take place
- An ability to use your own initiative and to work unsupervised
- Report writing, monitoring and supervision
- A commitment and understanding of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children.
**ADDITIONAL INFORMATION**
- You will be provided with induction training before you start your Volunteer Coordinator role and relevant training throughout the course of your time with us

- You will be given any equipment and information necessary to carry out your role
**PERSON SPECIFICATION**

QUALIFICATIONS, DEVELOPMENT AND KNOWLEDGE
Essential Knowledge of assisting or managing a project
A sound understanding and practical knowledge of effective parent/carer engagement
Excellent administrative and organisational skills
**ASSESSED BY APPLICATION AND INTERVIEW**
Knowledge of communicating via online tools and telephone
A sound understanding and practical knowledge of managing volunteers
Knowledge of the social care system
Knowledge of conducting research and evaluation
Experience of: Health and safety regulations
Safeguarding vulnerable adults and children
Engaging with diverse and marginalised communities
**SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES**
Competence with MS Word & Excel and use of IT for communication and data analysis. Excellent verbal communication skills.
Excellent leadership and motivational skills
Power Point desired
Numeracy skills for the purpose of data analysis and report writing
Full driving license and vehicle desired
Flexibility to attend the occasional event on an evening or weekend
3-month probation period will apply
