As part of our broader investment in our Digital Strategy, we are looking to recruit a **Server Platform Team Lead** to be responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimising the on-prem and cloud systems used by the university.

You will get the opportunity to lead the existing team in the design, maintenance, and optimisation of the on-prem and cloud systems that include Windows Servers, virtualisation, Server compute and storage, Servers’ backups, Load balancers and Server endpointprotection. You will be expected to lead by example and support improvements across the wider team.

You will be responsible for designing and developing critical services for the entire University within the Platform team, ensuring services are designed to meet functionality, security, performance, scalability, availability, and IT service continuity requirements.The team will take the lead in delivering critical services, taking responsibility for complex server platform projects, incident and problem resolution, preventative maintenance and upgrade work and capacity management.

**Core Skills**
- Enterprise experience/working knowledge around enterprise backups, storage, Windows, Microsoft cloud technologies, virtualisation, server endpoint protection and data centre technologies.
- Experience of supervising and motivating teams
- An ITIL certification, or practical experience of working across a large, ITIL aligned environment
- Strong communication skills and a customer centred approach to service delivery

- 41 days leave - 27 days, plus six closure days, plus bank holidays
- Excellent University pension scheme, with employer contributions of circa 21%
