Our Client is looking for a Payroll Officer to join their team on a temporary basis.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, you would have responsibility for processing a large monthly payroll for up to 350 employees including processing expenses and timesheets, preparing statutory returns, ensuring tax and third party payments are paid on a timely basis, monitoring sickness and calculating sick pay, SSP and unpaid sickness, assisting the finance team with payroll information for journals and budgets as required, dealing with payroll queries and assisting auditors with compliance checks and audits.
**Duties**:
- Monthly processing of the payroll up to 350 employees.
- Process expenses and timesheets on a monthly basis, ensuring compliance with BCHA policies and procedures
- Monitor staff sickness and calculate occupational sick pay, SSP and unpaid sickness
- Managing and taking ownership of the computerised payroll system, ensuring staff data is kept up to date (e.g., processing starters, leavers, and changes)
- Prepare statutory returns and other accounting records for external agencies as required (e.g., HMRC, pension providers)
- Ensuring that all tax and third-party payments are paid on time every month
Skills and experience:
You will need to have previous large company payroll experience, have up to date knowledge of payroll legislation and regulations and strong Excel (VLOOKUP’s, Pivot Tables).
This is a temporary role, full time office-based role.
