Warehouse Supervisor

This Warehouse Supervisor position involves ensuring the smooth daily running of the operation and maintaining suitable connections between other parts of the Parcelhub Distribution operation.

As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will hold main responsibility for daily supervision of the Parcelhub distribution operation, and provide support to, and cover for the Distribution Operations Manager.

Through effective supervision of a team of drivers / operatives, you will co-ordinate all activities that take place in the warehouse to ensure consistent achievement of the volume, quality, and efficiency targets so that Parcelhub / Whistl continues todeliver the highest quality, most cost-effective offering for its customers across all products.

The requirements of this Warehouse Supervisor role include but not limited to:

- Supervision of staff including appraisal and work assessment, while leading by example at all times
- Route planning
- Ensuring that all parcel traffic connects to the correct courier collection, spot-checking pallets prior to loading
- Ensuring collection vehicles load and depart in the allocated time window
- Locking up and ensuring overnight security of the Parcelhub warehouse
- Ensuring all Parcelhub commercial vehicles are safely parked and secured overnight
- Revenue protection duties
- Approval of purchases and invoices through the Parcelhub NAV system
- Ensuring compliance with MICOP regulation to maintain security of postal mail collected
- Ensuring that all staff, visitors, and contractors follow Health & Safety protocols and are challenged on breaches
- Keeping Parcelhub premises clean, presentable, and safe at all times
- Fleet management, including checks for damage and taking appropriate action to resolve vehicle defects
- Ensuring Parcelhub fleet remains clean, presentable, and safe
- Investigating, reporting, and resolving issues with staff performance and behaviour
- Conducting toolbox talks within the operations team
- Induction of new permanent and temporary staff into the operations team
- Conducting and recording regular driving licence checks
- Reporting and monitoring sickness and absence, and conducting and documenting related interviews
- Ensuring staff have the correct workwear and other tools required for their duties
- Working with other departments to maintain and improve communications
- Liaising with the Whistl Transport team
- Ensuring onsite returns are returned to customers in a timely manner
- Conducting new customer site visits
- Maintaining a proactive attitude to staff, customers, and the wider Whistl team
- Any other task that the company, Whistl, or a manager or supervisor may require

**Essential Skills**
- Supervisory capability
- Working knowledge of vehicle maintenance
- IOSH-approved Health & Safety training (will be provided if necessary)
- Able to manage own work in order to meet conflicting deadlines whilst maintaining performance standards and a consistent high degree of accuracy
- Proactively seeks to identify opportunities for continuous process improvement
- Experience of supervising a team including performance management, staff development, disciplinary and grievance, and attendance management
