Department: Finance

Reporting to: Senior Finance Accountant

The Department:
The Finance Department is responsible for the Guernsey Branch’s operational and marketing expenditure

Purpose of the role:
The Management Accounts Assistant is an integral role that will support and guide an international team during monthly, quarterly and year-end close cycles; be point for internal and external financial audits; coordinate internal control and operational policies; and other duties as assigned.

You will be responsible for:
Operational Expenses:
- Reviewing Purchase Orders raised by internal stakeholders
- Review and capture of invoices from suppliers to ensure business requirements are met
- Distribution of invoices received to correct stakeholders

Accounting duties:

- Posting of operational accruals and prepayments
- Assist with updating monthly schedules and reconciliations
- Reviewing intercompany/intergroup invoices

Payment duties:

- Review operational payment requests and prepare payment requisitions
- Monitor outstanding operational payment requests and follow up with relevant stakeholders
- Upload payments runs to banking systems for approval and release
- Handle all payment related queries for operational expenses
- Send payment confirmation to suppliers
- Ensure status of operational payment requests are kept up to date

Treasury Functions:

- Weekly Bank Account Reconciliations
- Assist in preparing a weekly Cash Flow - Summarise all potential payments from Purchase Orders and Invoices received and update once payment has been made.

Ad Hoc:

- Provide cover for Marketing related processes as required

You will have (Essential skills):

- Experience working in an accounting role
- Experience handling invoices, purchase ledger and cash flow
- General accounting system knowledge
- Advanced knowledge of Excel
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to plan and organise
- Able to handle large volumes of data

It would be a bonus if you also had (Desirable skills):

- Experience in Cash Flow management and Projections
- Microsoft Navision and/or MS Dynamics based accounting package experience preferable
- Understanding of banking systems
