**We are looking to recruit x 3 NHS Call Handlers to join the team support the out of hours services and be trained on triaging patient appointments for GP Practices and Medical Hubs within the Wigan Borough.**

**If you are ambitious, trustworthy, enthusiastic and would love the opportunity to gain exposure to working within an office environment in the NHS we want to hear from you**

**We are seeking applicants who are flexible, can work hours on a rota over 7 days in the week and are immediately available we would LOVE to hear from you**

**Offering part time hours with shifts of 8am to 2pm or 2pm to 8pm Monday to Friday and either a Saturday or Sunday 8am to 4pm, this is an amazing opportunity to have some flexibility in your day regardless of what shift you are working.**

**What will you be doing as an NHS Call Handler?**
- As an NHS Call Handler you will be helping patients to book appointments using a triage system
- Using your customer service skills, you will remain calm and professional whilst dealing with patients over the telephone
- You will be using the in-house system to go through a series of questions with the patient to identify the situation, before either offering an appointment or advise
- As a NHS Call Handler will also be supporting the doctors and healthcare workers on site to provide a quick response to patient queries, overcoming some challenging and sensitive issues
- You will be using your IT skills to navigate the system to update patients records.

**What skills and experience will you need as a NHS Call Handler?**
- As a NHS Call Handler you will enjoy using your positive can do attitude
- You have an excellent telephone manner
- Enjoy using your naturally empathy when dealing with difficult patients over the phone
- As a NHS Call Handler you have great listening skills and are enthusiastic about the role
- Happy being flexible and committed to working on a rota shift pattern spread over 7 days

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary contract, Temp to perm
Part-time hours: 24 per week

**Salary**: £9.50 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Overtime
- Weekend availability
- Weekends only

COVID-19 considerations:
Weekly LFT testing for staff and temperature checks
Allocated own head set to take home

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Wigan, WN3 6PR: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
