**Job description**:
Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, support and prioritise the work of the whole Vetting Team to ensure sponsorship of personnel and vetting risks are mitigated.
- Delivery of policy, presentations and communications on Vetting across the TLB.
- Contribute to the formulation, maintenance and adherence to MOD Personnel Security and Vetting Policy and the associated processes.
- Own and deliver input to all internal communications for PSyA related to vetting information and related security matters. Contribute along with DSR and Other Services/TLBs, to the formulation of MOD Personnel Security Policy (published in JSP440) and Vetting Policy/Processes (Cabinet Office, DSR, UKSV, Other Services).
- Provide Navy Command corporate oversight of the management of personnel security vetting processes and procedures for the Sponsorship of clearances and vetting referrals for all RN personnel.
- Oversight of Navy Vetting Appeals Panel support.
- Engagement with other TLBs and on vetting issues and the DSR Vetting Transformation Project.
- Deliver the RN Vetting Forecast.

**Person specification**:

- You will have proven leadership and management experience.
- You will have detailed knowledge of the MoD personnel security policy and end to end personnel security management practices for an individual throughout their service career. This will include understanding how a risk-based approach is applied to the decision process regarding an individual’s fitness to hold a security clearance.
- You must also meet the nationality requirements for access to STRAP material. The requirement is mandatory and essential.
- You will have a full understanding of the Business Units and organisations as well as the rank/rate structure of the RN.
- You will require good communication and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work reactively at short notice, to rapidly changing priorities and work streams.
