**Location: Albert Road Children's Centre**

Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east-London borough. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. As a result, we’ve developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.

We’re one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the City.

In Redbridge we are proud of our Children & Families Service, which was rated as outstanding in the last OFTED inspection 2019. Joining us will give you the opportunity to participate in the continuous development of a multi-agency service that is innovative and creative and constantly improving services to meet the needs of its residents and vulnerable families and children. You will receive supportive management and access to quality learning, development and research materials. Families Together Hub is the Early intervention arm of Childrens Services and you will be working in a “whole family approach” way.

We are seeking a Family Support Workers to be part of a team delivering early intervention and family support across the borough. This is an essential frontline service meeting the needs of children, young people and families who are or have faced a crisis affecting parenting capacity. You will need to be motivated, innovative and willing to work with different partner agencies, children and families from different and diverse backgrounds.

The role involves working with colleagues in children’s social care and a wide variety of partners in external agencies. You will be expected to provide a range of support in the home to a diverse community. You will need to understand safeguarding and be able to work with mental ill health, substance misuse, domestic violence, learning disabilities and other factors that could impede effective parenting. Our aim is to improve outcomes for children within the family environment.

This would be an ideal opportunity for a suitably experienced individual who has knowledge and experience of child development and supporting families with children. Please refer to the job description and person specification for full requirements of the role.
