Joining the Community Social Work (CSW) and Family Intervention Team (FIT) will give you the opportunity to play a crucial role in delivering SMART meaningful interventions to children, young people and their families, whilst working alongside qualified social workers and supportive managers.**:
You will need to be motivated, innovative and willing to work with different partner agencies, children and families from different and diverse backgrounds. The role involves working with colleagues in children’s social care and a wide variety of partners in external agencies. You will be expected to provide a range of support in the home to a diverse community. You will need to understand safeguarding and be able to work with mental ill health, substance misuse, domestic violence, learning disabilities, Asylum, families that often have no recourse to public funds and other factors that could impede effective parenting. Our aim is to improve outcomes for children within the family environment and to enhance a whole family approach to our interventions. The FSW’s play a key role in enhancing CSW/FIT’s offer and intervention portfolio and so from time to time you may be expected to work outside of normal working hours to run groups or support the social workers/managers across the service.
This would be an ideal opportunity for a suitably experienced FSW who is looking to step up their expertise in family support, who is willing to share their creative flair to assist the Service Manager to set up bespoke interventions to improve outcomes for children, young people and families across the service.
