ABOUT THE ROLE Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable adults, committed to empowering clients and having the natural ability to to work with them in a service user led, calm, confident and sensitive manner?, Focus would like to hear from you. We are hiring a Recovery Worker to join our team in Clapham, a service which focuses on recovery and wellbeing for men aged 18 - 65 with a diagnosis of severe and enduring mental health with forensic background and additional complex needs including substance misuse and other physical health issues. They support patients who are ready for discharge into the community from the South London and Maudsley NHS Trust. You will support with a range of frontline care and support activities within the service, in a varied role.

You will work towards supporting residents/participants to achieve their desired goals/outcomes, and will ensure all residents/participants understand and have the right tools and resources for positive outcomes. You will also develop, participate in, and encourage residents/participants to participate in the running of activities, projects and events. There will be a focus on risk assessments and management, as well as housing and property management. Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week on a rota basis which can include Early Shifts (08:00 - 16:00), Mid Shifts (09:30 - 17:30), Late Shifts (13:30 - 21:30) and Long Days (08:00 - 21:30) Benefits, including Non-Contractual Perks 25 days annual leave, increasing with the length of service Training and Development, including access to courses, upskilling, and progression plans Medicash includes discount gym memberships, routine optometry care, dental treatments, and physiotherapy treatments Employee Assistance Programme, including counselling Reflective Practice regular sessions with a therapist provided by an external provider to support Mental Health and Wellbeing.

What we are looking for: IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, basic Microsoft experience is required Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, ideally supporting those with Mental Health and Substance Misuse Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs Able to influence and negotiate positive outcomes with others What we would like, but not essential: Appropriate qualification: NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Health & Social Care/Community Justice, or professional equivalent Experience creating co-produced support plans and providing appropriate interventions for service user and liaising with other professionals Experience in providing housing support and practical assistance within a residential or outreach support role Previous experience in a similar organisation/industry/role Further details of the responsibilities and key criteria can be found in the JDPS attached.
