Warehouse Supervisor

**Job Summary**:
**Role Statement & Job Overview**

Warehouse supervisors oversee and coordinate daily warehouse activities. This includes receiving and storing goods in and out by managing inventory levels, ensuring KPI’s & customer satisfaction are achieved through Supervising staff, communicating with peers and management, whilst ensuring health and safety standards are adhered to and securing the warehouse.

**Key tasks & Responsibilities**
- Provide a safe working environment, adhering to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures.
- Ensuring all staff in their team understand Health & Safety rules and regulations and that they abide by them at all times.
- To make sure that their staff are following current processes and procedures in line with the Company’s procedures and requirements.
- Plan, co-ordinate, and monitor the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
- Ensure picks, customer requests are processed in the most efficient way.
- Make sure delivery of materials and goods meets customers timescales, expectations and requirements by managing your team resources efficiently, communicatively and collaboratively.
- Supervise and over see order picking, goods in, goods out operations to ensure documentation is accurate with minimum stock damage.
- Responsible for driving good standards of work and quality processes are implemented.
- In conjunction with the Transport Team, ensure that delivery processes are adhered to Warehouse Manager.
- In conjunction with the Warehouse Manager identify errors and eliminate root cause by fact finding and using robust countermeasures to solve issues and improve quality.
- In conjunction with the Warehouse Manager, implement and maintain warehouse and management systems and working practices in line with best practice and continuous improvement.
- Monitor and review operational methods to facilitate both qualitative and quantitative improvements within the operation whilst ensuring continuous customer service.
- Control of Fork Lift Truck management to ensure compliance management and full operational capacity and achieve daily targets.
- Ensure security of Warehouse environment and maintain access control, ensuring housekeeping standards are maintained at all times.
- Monitor and maintain stock accuracy by ensuring the physical stock is in line with the warehouse management system and ensure all stock movements are recorded to ensure accuracy.
- Monitor stock levels in order to highlight minimum and excess levels and therefore prevent part shortages to Warehouse Manager

**People Management**
- Build team philosophy and cultivate a team atmosphere by working with the team to achieve the company's targets and objectives
- Maintain training matrix and ensure employees are adequately trained and competent within their role to ensure operational flexibility.
- Coach the team daily in order that a common goal is focused upon and those business objectives are met consistently.
- In conjunction with the Warehouse Manager plan, managing and adjusting staffing levels to meet daily operational requirements within the warehouse
- Drive Company absence control procedures to ensure maximum attendance levels. Administer holidays, sickness and timekeeping effectively
- Report all personnel issues Warehouse Manager and HR where relevant.
- Carry out investigations for ER and support performance management
- General supervising of the warehouse team and manage day to day warehouse operations.
- Understand training requirement of operatives
- Understand documentation requirements for operatives.
- Deliver team briefs, create informative team topics.
- Familiarise yourself with company inductions, personnel checks and company training requirements
- Familarise yourself with absence reporting and HR processes.
- Supportive, approachable and helpful approach.

**Accountabilities & Objectives**
- WMS system training by actively seeking out how it works so that you can coach and train others.
- Review and understand safe systems of work to support delivery of training to your team & other new warehouse staff.
- Review and understand operation processes to support delivery of training to your team & other new warehouse staff.
