An inspirational not-for-profit organisation is looking for a life science graduate to work as a Publishing Assistant with scientists from the medical community on medical journals. This is a rare opportunity for a life science graduate to start an excitingcareer outside of a lab. Alternatively, this role might also suit an experienced Publishing Assistant who's looking to join an organisation with a wonderful culture, loads of flexibility for work/life balance and fantastic professional development.
The successful Publishing Assistant will get hybrid working split between the office and home, as well as flexi-time hours. You'll also receive regular, comprehensive training, so this is the perfect opportunity to develop into a Scientific Publisher.
The experience we need.
- A life science degree or higher is essential
- Some commercial administration experience would be desirable
- Customer service experience would be a big plus
The role.
As the successful Publishing Assistant, you will work with scientists providing high-level administrative support to the publishing department, including peer review staff and the editorial boards.

What you'll get in return.
If your experience fits the bill, you'll be rewarded with a salary between £21k and £24k. A graduate with no commercial experience can expect £21k. A graduate with commercial admin or customer service experience could expect a slightly higher basic salary andan experienced Publishing Assistant can expect £24k. Regardless of starting salary, you'll have regular pay reviews, hybrid working, flexi-time, great pension and holiday allowance and first-class professional development.
