**Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Officer**

**Cheshire**

**Excellent permanent opportunity** to join a leading company in Cheshire for a Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Officer **with experience in the food sector**. This is a full-time office-based position. Salary is between £40,000 and £45,000 depending on experience. **Immediate start available.**

**This role involves**:

- Managing the quality and food safety function ensuring that food safety is managed effectively and continuously improved, in line with business and customer specific requirements.
- Undertaking audits in line with the risk assessed audit programme. Supporting the close out of actions raised in audits.
- Carrying out checks and verification against risk assessed schedules for aspects such as glass and glass like material, chemical titrations, scale calibration, temperature probes, metal detection, UV tunnels.
- Maintaining and reviewing the microbiological swabbing programme and ensuring out of specification results are highlighted to stakeholders.
- Taking samples for testing as defined by schedules for water, air, finished product and raw material and ensuring out of specification results are highlighted to stakeholders
- Supporting investigations into customer complaints and non-conformances, using root cause analysis.
- Site Health and Safety Lead
- Ensuring engineering work is carried out against procedures designed to maintain food safety.
- Supporting the operational team in their technical tasks, providing advice, guidance and where relevant, training
- Developing and maintaining the Quality Management System
- Hosting pest control visits and ensuring action points are raised with relevant stakeholders.
- Attending daily production meetings and supporting any quality or safety related outputs from the meeting.
- Maintaining clear communication mechanisms

**Skills and qualifications required**
- IOSH qualification
- NEBOSH qualification
- 3 years' experience min within QA and Health and Safety within the food sector
- Driving licence and own transport is essential for this role

**Salary is £40,000 to £45,000 depending on experience.**
