**Job description**:
The job holder is responsible for researching and producing initial draft responses to requests for information made under the Freedom of Information Act (FoiA) and the Environmental Impact Regulations Act (EIR). Work must comply with GDPR.

They will also be a central point of contact along with other members of the team in supplying
advice and information to other parts of the Agency.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Manage requests received and prioritise them appropriately considering
agreed timescales.
- Manage inbox: deal with allocation of incoming requests, send on requests
to other business areas where appropriate, ensure urgent requests are
dealt with immediately, escalate issues to line manager where required.
- Be proactive in building relationships both within own team but also DVSA
wide.
- Work in collaboration with colleagues across all functions for the good of
DVSA and to create a high performing and well respected Agency.

**Person specification**:
**Essential skills and experience**:

- Proven, accountable experience in working in an FoI/DP role for a minimum of a year.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good understanding of legislative work and the importance of clarity, detail, accuracy.
- Able to communicate effectively with individuals, across teams and at various levels.
- Able to work independently, multi-task, managing own time and deadlines, but also able to work as part of a team to deliver an overall joint goal.
- Experience in use of spreadsheets and databases.

**Additional Information**

There will be occasional travel required with this role to other DVSA locations, including overnight stays.
