**Job summary**:
The government announced on 30 June 2025 that the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) is to become an Executive Agency of Ministry for Housing, Communities, and Local Government (MHCLG) and will be moved out of HSE.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) established the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) with the intention of keeping high-rise buildings safe and enabling people to feel safe in their homes. Working with residents and industry to make sure everybody has a voice, BSR oversees changes to the safety and performance of all buildings and raise industry professional standards year on year. BSR serves as a lasting tribute to those who have lost their lives due to poor and substandard buildings and will help ensure tragedies of such proportions as Grenfell are consigned to the past.

You will be responsible for supervising the operational support team which cover all aspects of administration. This is a key role in liaising with those within the built environment who are registering buildings as well as ensuring your team offer a high quality customer service approach service. Your team will work with a range of colleagues from within BSR, HSE and partner organisations to lead delivery of the high risk buildings regime, through from initial registration to assessing routine compliance. This role will develop as the BSR grows and therefore flexibility to move within the role is expected.

Team Leaders and their teams will be based at the Bootle HSE office.

Part time working hours are available for this role. We can accept part time applicants who can commit to working a minimum of 30 hours per week.

**Job description**:
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support the Operational Support staff, ensuring they have the required levels of knowledge and understanding to perform their roles effectively
- Manage the second-line support function handling and triaging incoming queries from duty holders, residents and other persons and parties
- Manage and review performance by setting key objectives and cultivating personal development of your staff
- Supervise the administration of invoicing and the payment of duty holder fees where required
- Review and refine processes within the Operational Support Team
- Support all BSR Operational Support workstreams.

Essential Skills & Criteria
- Experience of working within an operational environment and a solid understanding of performance management principles
- Adept in developing and leading high-performing teams to deliver successful outcomes
- Sound organisational and time management skills, to work within a fast-paced environment, handling competing priorities and ensuring a quality service is provided
- Experience of working together within a group or team and instilling positive behaviours to achieve goals
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills and having a customer service and quality focused mindset
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Packages including: MS Word, Excel, SharePoint and Outlook with the ability to teach others.
