Our corporate tax and structuring team services UK and international clients through a combination of expertise delivered through our own offices, or where necessary, leading advisors in their local markets. This role is open to our UK offices.

**WHAT WILL THIS ROLE INVOLVE?**:
**KNOWLEDGE**:

- Updating fee-earners on the implications of legal developments
- Proactively suggesting ways to use information on changes in the law or market practice to build client relationships
- Managing the Group's know how database and resources
- Preparing internal practice notes and improving processes to increase efficiencies and involvement in the continuous development of technology in the provision of our legal services
- Identifying and delivering innovative approaches to managing and sharing knowledge for the benefit of colleagues and clients
- Research in relation to both specific and general legal issues to support both transactional and business development activities
- Act in an advisory capacity in supporting colleagues and clients with complex legal research queries, helping them develop the skills to find answers for themselves and help tailor advice to a client's specific needs

**INTERNAL BRIEFINGS/MARKETING**:

- Updating wider-firm colleagues on relevant legal developments, changes of law relevant to their practices (eg post Budget)
- Assisting with briefings/credentials relating to T&S focus areas

**CLIENTS/MARKETING**:

- Updates to clients on legal developments, for example briefings, thought leadership and horizon scanning
- Client training where specifically requested (chargeable) or as part of value add under panel terms etc
- Support for pitches on sector/matter relevant tax issues

**KNOWLEDGE SUPPORT**:

- Advisory capacity in supporting T&S team with complex research queries, helping them develop the skills to find answers for themselves
- Chargeable research on particular areas/problems as part of wider transaction or advisory project

**PRECEDENTS**:

- Drafting and maintaining corporate precedents (included automated precedents)
- Managing precedents, including drafting and updating precedents, but also enlisting fee-earner contribution to precedent
- Managing/authoring other relevant know-how, eg. practice notes, know-how on SharePoint

Training
- Updating colleagues and clients on legal developments relevant to the team's practice
- Management (not single-handed provision) of regular tax team training - mix of update, technical and do-how training

**GENERAL**:

- Demonstrating and supporting the firm's values -business focus, openness and honesty, dynamism, team player, determination to succeed - through the approach to knowledge management and training activity
- Contributing to firm wide knowledge management through the wider Knowledge Lawyer group

**WHAT SKILLS WILL YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE?**:

- Be an experienced Tax Lawyer seeking a change in direction OR a current Knowledge Lawyer/PSL with experience of working in a tax focused role
- Have excellent interpersonal, drafting and writing skills
- Be both proactive and well organised
- Have exce
