Hotel Receptionist

We are looking for a highly professional and enthusiastic individual to join our Reception Team at The Best Western York House Hotel. We are set in a fabulous location, just opposite the seafront and just five minutes walk from the town centre.
Full Time. Full time would be 37.5 per week - 5 Days per week
Normal shifts are 07:00-15:00, 15:00-23:00, 11:00-19:00
**About the role**:
A Hotel receptionist duties can range from check-in through check-out and reservation checks, creating new reservations, handling phone calls & guest requests as required.
**What will I be doing?**
- Delivering excellent customer service at all times
- Reception duties, including checking in and out of guests, answering telephone, making reservations and dealing with queries and enquiries
- Makes sure that bookings are guaranteed, deal with no shows and posts ledger rates efficiently into the system.
- Cash handling including float counting and banking in compliance with brand standards.
- Fulfill all reasonable requests from guest to ensure their comfort, satisfaction and safety.
- Reports any maintenance issues immediately to the line manager
- Completion of tasks as designated per shift
- Ensuring that cleanliness is maintained in all public areas
- Have good knowledge of your local area
- Be actively involved in your personal development and training
- Carry out instruction given by the management team.
*More duties maybe required and the list above is to give a basic outline of the activities on shift.
**About you**:
We are looking for an enthusiastic dynamic individual, positive and capable with a passion for this type of work, who is customer focused and has excellent command of both verbal and written (to GCSE level or equivalent) English. We require:
- Previous experience as a receptionist would be advantageous, but not required as training can be provided.
- A confident, professional and welcoming personality;
- Passionate about the hospitality industry and an eagerness to develop;
- An attention to detail and accuracy of work;
- Effective communicator with an ability to build strong internal and external relationships;
- Excellent grooming standards;
- An ability to work under pressure and resilience;
- Capable of multitasking;
