To work as part of a team, providing support and encouragement to all members of staff, parents, students and visitors to the nursery.
To contribute in providing an environment which not only meets the requirements but develops the minimum standards and practices set out in the EYFS ‘Practice Guidance’ and ‘Statutory Framework’.
To contribute and adhere to all policies, practices and procedures of Abacus.
To work as a team, ensuring the smooth running of the playroom, and where appropriate, to assist with the responsibilities of senior staff in their absence.
To work as a team in providing a varied programme of planned and child-led activities to promote the spiritual, moral and active educational development of the children.
To ensure that the health, welfare and safety of all children/adults in the nursery remain a priority at all times.
To assist in ensuring equipment is kept to a high standard of safety and that equipment is well cared for and used appropriately.
To view, respect, include and respond to children as individuals.
To ensure the highest possible hygiene levels are maintained throughout the nursery (includes rooms, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen, staff area, outdoor play and also during outings).
For key person to keep accurate records of their children’s progress and evidence of their achievements/learning.
For key person to be responsible for overseeing their children’s learning, personal wellbeing and involvement.
To liaise and work in partnership with parents in relation to all aspects of the children’s care and education.
To offer all children equal opportunities with regards to cultural, emotional, racial, gender, religious and additional needs. To challenge/report any situations in which equal opportunities are not maintained.
To attend and participate in staff meetings, room meetings, appraisals and training opportunities to build current skills and attributes.
To provide a positive and supportive role model to all involved in the day to day running of Abacus.
To engage in positive management of children’s behaviour, following nursery procedures and guidelines.
To be a positive role model in the community.
Supervision and effective mentoring of students.
To ensure all forms, records and procedures are appropriately filled in/carried out in accordance to nursery policies, procedures and guidelines in a thorough and timely manner.
To maintain confidentiality at all times, both in the nursery and in the local/wider community.
To communicate effectively with all students, staff and parents.
To work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team for children with additional needs.
**Current Salary: £25,292.80 Gross pay**
