We have an **exciting opportunity** for you to join our **fantastic** Children’s Services team as an Early Intervention and Play Leader.

This is a **permanent **contract, working **37.5 hours per week** Monday-Friday with occasional weekend and evening hours.

The role is **hybrid working** from Home, the Sense Office in Wakefield and out in the Community in Leeds.

Our service provides information, guidance and support to children with complex disabilities aged 0-8 years and their families. We give families the **skills**, strategies and **confidence** to interact, build relationships and communicate with their child helping them to **have fun**, be happy,** thrive**, learn and **enjoy** the moment.

As an Early Intervention and Play Leader, you will provide** support** with all aspects of **developmen**t, including communication, interaction and **play**; developing and delivering face-to-face and online sessions based on the specific needs of children and their families.

You will ensure children with complex disabilities and their **families get the best possible start**

**We’re looking for applicants who have**:

- A recognised qualification in playwork, diploma in childcare, NNEB OR an equivalent NVQ level 3 qualification OR qualified by substantial successful experience.
- Experience of working with children and young people with disabilities in an education, health or social care setting.
- Proven experience of assessing and monitoring individual progress of children with complex disabilities
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Full UK Driving License and use of your own car

**Your duties might include**:

- To identify children and families within Leeds and the wider surrounding area that would benefit from early intervention and support.
- To provide a programme of online activities and resources for children and families
- To maintain accurate and up to date records
- To provide information and advice to families about the specific needs of their child.
