Leader Education is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Year 6 pupil with Special Educational Needs in a mainstream primary school in Wakefield. This full-time, long-term role is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children in their final year of primary school as they prepare for transition to secondary education.The successful candidate will provide tailored support to meet the child s individual needs, which may include:Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needsSpeech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)ADHD and associated learning difficultiesWorking Hours:Monday to Friday, 8:30am 3:30pmCandidate Requirements:Previous experience supporting children with SEND (school, care, or youth work experience considered)Confidence in working 1:1 with a pupil, providing emotional and academic supportAbility to assist with English and Maths interventions appropriate for Key Stage 2Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approachStrong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with the class teacher and SENCOCommitment to safeguarding and inclusive educationEnhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)What We Offer:Competitive daily pay rates£100 refer-a-friend bonus (terms apply)Free CPD training, including SEND-specific courses and Team TeachOngoing support from a dedicated SEND consultantOpportunities to transition into permanent school rolesHow to Apply:To be considered, please send your CV or call us directly on (phone number removed) for a confidential chat.Compliance Statement:Leader Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
