Hertfordshire Family Safeguarding have the opportunity for a talented, aspiring and ambitious leader to join the FamilySafeguarding Management Team based at Apsley, Hemel Hempstead.

The Hertfordshire Family Safeguarding model of practice is an innovative child protection model developed in Hertfordshire, effective in keeping more children safely within their families and helping parents to achieve lasting change. Independently evaluatedand referenced in both the recent Care Review and National Safeguarding Panel Review: our model of practice is acknowledged as a leading example of how child protection work can be effective in making positive changes to the outcomes for children and families.With a multidisciplinary team’s approach, using motivational interviewing, we take a holistic view to the help and support required by a family to improve the lives of children and young people. We work alongside families to address the challenges they areexperiencing. We aim to motivate and support them to identify for themselves the changes needed to keep their children safe from harm. The overall aim is to bring about long-term change within families which is driven by the parents themselves and is thereforelikely to be more sustainable.

We are a service motivated by and dedicated to continuously improving social work practice. We aim to support individuals to be an influential and active member of their community by promoting true citizenship. We want our Team Managers to be resilient androbust as well as imaginative and reflective with the ability to coach, lead and support their team.

You will manage a team of social workers, children’s practitioners and adult workers working alongside children and families supported by Child in Need and Child protection Plans. Multi-agency working is key to this post.

We are a service committed to continuous improvement with a tireless ambition to support families to achieve their best outcomes.

**Requirements**:

- You will need to be a qualified social worker including Social Work England registration.
- You will have a good understanding and experience of working with families supported by Child In Need and Child Protection plans as well as experience of managing Care Proceedings.
- As part of this role, you will be required to travel to other HCC Sites. In light of this, a clean driving licence, the ability to drive and/or travel around the County is required for this role.
