An exciting opportunity has arisen with the Watford General Hospital Integrated Discharge Team for a Deputy Team Manager. Watford IDT is a busy, progressive team, supporting residents of Hertfordshire home from hospital as quickly and safely as possible.Watford IDT sits within the wider Herts Valleys Hospital Discharge Service supporting people home from acute hospitals, community hospitals and their post discharge follow up.To improve outcomes for service users, Herts Valleys Hospital Discharge Service supporta 7-day service. The successful candidate will therefore be asked to work on consecutive Saturdays and Sundays once every eight weeks and will receive days off during the weeks before and after covering a weekend. The successful candidate will be based onsite at Watford General Hospital. The successful applicant will be able to evidence sound knowledge of safeguarding practice, key legislation, working with people with dementia, the personalisation agenda, and Individual Budgets.Key responsibilities of theDeputy Team Manager post include: Ensuring excellent practice within the team; compliance with relevant policies and procedures and an effective performance management approach to support the learning and development of the team. Managing the practice andperformance of the team to ensure the timely and effective completion of discharges and reviews. To inspire, lead, manage and nurture a team of professionals (Social Workers, Occupational Therapists, and Community Care Officers) that can operate innovativelyand creatively in order to meet the needs of Hertfordshire citizens. Building positive relationships with key system partners to maximise hospital flow. Effective management of resources and budgets and assurance of quality. Deputise for the Team Manager whenrequired.You must be a registered Social Worker or Occupational Therapist with experience of managing people and performance. You will also have experience of leading and managing change. The successful candidate will have the ability to influence the workingsof other services and you will be a skilled communicator who can work with competing demands for services. You will be comfortable with managing a team who will primarily be out of the office located in other bases who are undertaking assessments to supportsafe appropriate discharges to the community.
