You & Me Supported Living are a dynamic supported living company supporting adults with Learning Disabilities. Our clients live in their own homes where they are supported by our team. Our goals are to empower all our clients to live independently and our Personal Assistants are a key part of that.

**The role**
You will be building trusting relationships by getting to know our clients, understanding what is important to them and how they want to be supported within agreed support procedures. You will support them to be part of their community, with social, educational, and daily domestic activities of their choice.
You will support our clients to ensure they receive assistance appropriate to their needs, including personal care, help with finances, help managing their home, assistance with medicines, and many other aspects of their lives. This support will always be given within their agreed support plan.
You will maintain good communication links with our client's families as well as healthcare professionals where appropriate.
You will safeguard the welfare of our clients, while helping them to live fulfilling and independent lives.
Full training will be given which will include online training modules, job shadowing and the chance to study for formal qualifications through our apprenticeship program.

**Essential Criteria**:
- You will have a flexible approach in order to meet the varied needs of our clients.
- You will be proactive in your communication and have good organisational skills.
- You will have the ability to maintain accurate written records.
- You will often be working alone so having the ability to work on your own initiative is important
- You will demonstrable a genuine interest in people and their welfare and an ability to provide practical support services for residents without undermining their independence.
- You will show empathy and be able to understand the needs of our clients, often in emotional or sensitive situations.
- You will continuously identify opportunities as the needs or wishes of our clients change.
- You will be motivated to continuously improve your skills in order to deliver excellent care to our clients.
**Desirable Criteria**:
- A Diploma/NVQ/QCF in Social Care or Supporting people
- Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding vulnerable adults including the Mental Capacity Act 2005
- Previous experience of working within the services or teams that meet the support needs of adults with physical and learning difficulties.
- Hold a full clean driving licence.
