Role Summary

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

- Demonstrable Risk, Compliance and / or Quality Assurance experience
- Experience with the development and production of review reports to management
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines whilst managing multiple stakeholders

Job responsibilities
- As part of the Compliance Assurance and Control team provide a high-quality service and support to the business with managing compliance risks and issues
- Produce high quality draft reports for review which effectively communicate findings and provide assurance on the effectiveness of controls
- Deliver monitoring reviews in line with the agreed plan and prescribed timeframes
- Engage with stakeholders to identify sources of assurance relating to compliance activities
- Undertake testing to validate the efficacy of controls, maintaining an open-minded, balanced approach
- Constructively challenge management’s assessment of the effectiveness of controls, and the evidence provided to support their assessment
- Perform analysis of risks and controls, identifying trends, threats and opportunities
- Identify and investigate any areas of non-compliance and escalate / validate with business management
- Proactively engage with the business on the value of compliance reviews
- Assist in the development and refinement of monitoring reviews
- Engage with business management and assist in the registration and tracking of all identified issues and validate corrective action plans through to closure
- Work independently on reviews, and collaboratively with the wider team, on the delivery of the annual Compliance Assurance plan
- Build up a thorough understanding of the business’s regulatory responsibilities, as well as the rapidly changing landscape of regulation across the EQ Group

Skills, knowledge & experience
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent)
- Understanding of Financial Services regulations, principles and codes of practice
- Project management experience
- Experienced in building relationships with senior management
- Experience in undertaking investigations and of identifying compliance risks and proposing resolutions
- Influencing and networking with senior people to achieve consensus and collaboration
- Demonstrable experience of taking decisions up to the maximum level of own authority, balancing short and long term needs
- Ability to work calmly under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability and confidence to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, at all levels
- Logical and systematic approach to analysis of symptoms and causes, identifying key issues, underlying trends and interrelationships
- Efficiency in managing priorities and adapting quickly to change
- Excellent IT skills, including use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Our work is Group-wide so you will have an opportunity to travel to all EQ locations as required and agreed.
