**Head of Financial Planning**

Based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire our client is looking for a qualified accountant to join their team as Head of Financial Planning on a permanent basis.

This job would suit an ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified accountant with experience of managing a financial analysis reporting team to deliver excellent analysis and reporting.

Our client has seen significant developments in its market over the last couple of years and they are continuing to go from strength to strength with multiple projects happening across their market.

The successful individual will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified. A Treasury or banking qualification (e.g., Association of Corporate Treasurers - Diploma or Advanced Diploma) is desired but not essential. To be considered for this role, you will need to have goodfinancial mathematical and analytical skills and the ability to create and maintain complex Excel spreadsheets. This role requires strong experience of negotiating and managing bank loans and capital market transactions backed by treasury management technicalknowledge and understanding.

Job responsibilities:

- Lead, motivate, inspire, manage, monitor and support the work of the Financial Planning & Analysis and Treasury teams to ensure delivery of a professional, competent and responsive service to the business.
- Manage the Financial Planning & Analysis and Treasury teams to ensure they understand and fulfill internal and external customer requirements and work collaboratively as a service team within the Finance department.
- Manage and regularly appraise staff and to ensure that staff are given appropriate training in order to carry out their duties.
- Establish and maintain first class systems of reporting financial management and performance information as required by internal and external customers.
- Ensure the production of the monthly management accounts of the Association including in
- depth reporting and analysis as required by budget managers. Produce updated outturn forecasts throughout the year.
- Take responsibility for managing the production of the annual revenue and capital budgets through budget mangers. Consolidate the Association annual budget and prepare the approval report to Board.
- Ensure the production of the leaseholder service charge and oversee the year-end audit certification process.
- Create and maintain the financial 30 year business plan for the business using the agreed software model in accordance with the strategic assumptions and constraints approved by the Board.
- Produce such other financial modelling as required in support of new business activities eg stock rationalisation, subsidiary businesses, new activities.
- Manage the company's portfolio of bank loans and capital market borrowings, ensuring that accurate and up to date records are maintained and reflected in the financial system.
- Work with the Director of Financial Services to devise and implement the treasury funding strategy, policy and procedures for the business.
- Liaise with the Business Support team to ensure that adequate asset security is in place to support all loans in good time and in accordance with the treasury policy and that security revaluations are effected in accordance with lender's requirements.
- Ensure that all interest payments, fees and other loan charges are paid on time in accordance with the loan agreements.
- Ensure efficient cash and liquidity management maximising returns and minimising costs within agreed policy.
- Manage the delivery of all documents to demonstrate compliance with lender's loan covenants and to meet all agreed information requirements.
- Provide all necessary information and analysis of loans required for inclusion in the statutory accounts.
- Prepare the interest budget for inclusion in the company's annual budget. Monitor and report on variances through the management accounts.
- Support the preparation of the company's annual accounts and financial statements in statutory format and to liaise with the auditors to ensure an efficient and professional audit process.
