Our client based in the Horsham area are seeking a trainee finance assistant to join their growing team, working with state of the art technology.

The successful trainee finance assistant will have the following key responsibilities:

- Reporting to the Financial Controller (FC) and in their absence to Finance Director (FD).
- Working with Finance Assistant(s) and Purchasing to ensure accurate processing of supplier invoices through MRP system to Sage.
- Assist with creating twice monthly Supplier Payment Run for authorisation by FC / FD.
- Supporting the Finance Assistant(s) with reconciliation of supplier statements, processing supplier payments and issuing remittance advices.
- Work with Finance Assistant(s) with entries in Sage; bank reconciliations, fixed assets, prepayments and accruals and other journals, to produce a monthly trial balance.
- Assistance with the production of ad-hoc financial information as and when required.
- Assist with processing Sales Invoices through MRP system to Sage and communication with Customers regarding these invoices as necessary.
- Adhere to the company's procedures, policies and goals.
- Ensure at all times that health and safety regulations and guidelines are followed.
- Ensure that all procedures are followed as specified in the Quality Manual.
- Ensure that all documentation related to your work is kept accurate and up to date in accordance with BS EN9001.
- Assist in maintaining the office in a clean and orderly state and ensure good housekeeping.
- Work in a conscientious and safe manner at all times, with due consideration of other personnel.

The trainee finance assistant must have the following experience:

- Be a well organised individual with excellent eye for detail
- Self-motivated and able to adapt to changing priorities
- Driven to achieve results accurately and on time, to internal stakeholders and customers
- Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively to achieve the desired results
- A good understanding of Excel.
- Demonstrate Chess’s values of Teamwork, Integrity, Courage and Excellence at all times
- A desire to develop existing skills and show a willingness to further training appropriate to the role

You will have a competitive salary, plus excellent benefits including 26 days annual holiday (plus Bank Holidays), Contributory Pension, Private Medical Insurance, Income Protection Scheme and Life Cover.
