**Plant Operator / Process Operator / Process Operative - Chipping Campden**

Are you looking for a **process operator** posting?

Charlton Morris is currently advertising a great opportunity within one of the largest waste-to-renewable energy plants in southern England, focused on utilising food waste as a raw material to create methane used for 100% renewable electricity and gas for the national grids.

This position centres on receiving and processing incoming waste material, ensuring that it is compliant with the permitted waste types to feed the plant accordingly, and maximising energy output and cost effectiveness by smooth operation of the plant.

**What would your responsibilities be?**

Daily, you will be required to:

- Operate de-packaging machinery consistently to optimise the recipe for the type of waste received and plant KPI’s, and to safely and effectively tip trailers of waste;
- To manage the cleanliness of the reception, pads and overall site;
- To maintain equipment effectively including; greasing, routine maintenance checks. To ensure that reports any equipment defects or lack of resources to the Engineering Manager.
- Adhere to the Site Health & Safety policy in all work activities
- Undertake any course of instruction necessary to obtain or maintain the required skill level for this role; be comfortable working shifts
- To undertake such other activities as may reasonably be required from time to time and which are within the competency of the job holder, ensuring that time keeping and punctuality is maintained at an acceptable level.

You will report to the Lead Operator/Plant Manager.

**What are the requirements?**
- It is desirable to have Science, English and Maths GCSE or Equivalent - JCB and tele-truck certification - be First Aid trained;
- Ideally, you will have previous plant or manufacturing experience of any kind - it would be beneficial to hold a basic knowledge of the process of anaerobic digestion or have worked with anaerobic digestion;
- Excellent communication and teamworking skills, high self-motivation levels with great attention to detail;
- Keen to develop new processes and practices to accommodate new objectives and technological developments of the company, creating daily work plans and identifying highlight potential obstacles in achieving objectives and proposing solutions;
- Physically able to manually de-cant materials delivered in palletized format with possible individual pack weights of up to 20kgs.

**Salary**: Up to £30,000.00 per year
