We are looking for an enthusiastic, self motivated and hardworking individual to join our dedicated and energetic Health and Safety Team delivering a highly efficient and effective Health and Safety service across the council.

Operating in a busy working environment, you should be confident in verbal and written communications and have a good level of ICT skills. You will be required to prioritise your own workload to meet deadlines. You should have some experience of working in a busy office environment, with a good understanding of office processes and procedures.

This post will work closely with and provide support to the Health and Safety Team and other council departments.

Specifically, you will be responsible assisting with a variety of technical tasks including:
Supporting Health and Safety advisors and officers in carrying out site inspections and audits

Supporting the team to ensure Health and Safety policies and procedures kept up to date and accurate in line with new or updated regulations or legal requirements.

Liaising with clients and customers to arrange training and other events

Maintaining accurate records and being able to provide statistical and other information in a variety of formats

You should be organised with attention to detail, be able to work under pressure, use your own initiative but also be able to follow instructions and work as part of a team. This role is key to supporting the ongoing development of the councils Health and Safety service and continual improvement.
