Rotherham Council are looking to recruit a Highway Technical Support Officer within our Network Management team. This is an excellent opportunity that has arisen to join Rotherham Councils’ nationally recognised award-winning Highway Asset Management team service.

The Network Management team is part of the Community Safety and Street Scene service, and we are passionate about what we do in the borough. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic person to join our team who is looking for a challenge and to develop within this exciting opportunity.

The successful applicant will be joining a supportive and motivated Highway service team who value learning and development. You will have excellent communication and organisational skills and will manage the Technical Administration process within the Councils Highways service.

This is a varied role that will involve, but not limited to, administrating High level / complex reports for the Highways team and issuing to the relevant officers. You will be involved in arranging invoice payments and supervise an apprentice working within the team administration process. The post holder will work closely with the head of service and arrange team meetings - minute taking - calendar events / Schedules.

The post holder will collate performance reports from various sections within the highway service and arrange for publication on the Councils website along with administrating confidential records for sickness and absence within the team.

The role will involve a technical support element and you will be trained to provide technical support to Highway searches and Highway adoptions.

The highway service uses specialist Asset management software along with office suite packages, Word, Excel, Power-point etc. The post holder will have good knowledge and Experience of using Word documents and spreadsheets and a willingness to learn to use the Councils specialist systems.

This position will be based at the Councils head office Riverside House, Rotherham Town Centre.
