Directorate: Finance & Customer Services

**Post 1**:Permanent, Full time, 37 hours per week**

The Local Taxation Team is responsible for the billing and collection of Council Tax and National Non-Domestic Rates.

In the role of Technical Officer you will:
Have substantial experience in a Revenues/Benefits environment or similar organisation

Have a detailed and up to date knowledge of Revenues and/or Benefits legislation, systems and procedures.

Have the ability to supervise and support staff providing advice, training, and mentoring as required including the ability to identify the training needs of the work of the team.

Have the ability to deal with complex cases and disputes.

Be able to work under pressure, prioritise your own workload and meet tight deadlines.

Be able to work accurately and with an eye for detail.

Have the ability to produce and maintain documented procedures.

**Post 2**:Permanent, Part time 7.4 hours (0.2 FTE) per week**

In addition to the above requirements, this post will focus on training and mentoring of Revenues visiting and valuation work. A detailed and up to date knowledge of the current working practices, procedures and relevant legislation is essential.
