**Commercial Trainee**

Shingler Group have an exciting opportunity for a driven and hardworking individual to join our friendly, forward-thinking team to support our purchasing function. They will work within our existing purchasing department as well as interacting closely with the surveying team, the wider business and our suppliers, subcontractors and direct labour force.
- Support the existing buying team in the day-to-day management of our developments.
- Update and maintain cost libraries and budgets.
- Raise orders to meet the site requirements.
- Assist in setting up new developments e.g., reviewing drawings and scheduling the required materials.
- Assist in negotiations and managing the supply chain to achieve best value.
- Assist the site teams in managing stock levels on site.
- Assist our surveying team in providing accurate, up to date tenders, cost reports and cashflows
- Assist our surveying team in managing and controlling costs of variations to work
- Other adhoc duties within both the commercial and surveying teams
- Strong work ethic
- Good communicator with an approachable, friendly manner
- A willingness to learn
- Well organised.
- Work well under pressure.
- Commercial Acumen
- Have an interest/ awareness of the construction industry.
- Minimum of 3 A levels
- Minimum Maths, English and Science Grade 9-6 or equivalent at GCSE level.
- Have a clean Driving licence or be working towards obtaining a licence.
- Computer literate especially Microsoft Excel.
