**Youth Mentor (Community & Schools)**
**Switch Up**
Switch Up changes lives. We work with young people, often from deprived backgrounds and help them turn their lives around. We aren’t like other services, we provide bespoke packages of support and will do whatever it takes to get results. We are resilient and relentlessly optimistic about the future of our young people.
Do you get fulfilment from working with young people and have an ability to connect with them so you can provide mentoring, guidance and life skills to a diverse range of young people, helping them achieve their true potential against all odds? Our Youth mentors are special, they deliver workshops in schools and the community, they engage the hardest to reach young people using their excellent motivational skills. If this sounds like you, and you have experience of this type of work in a paid, voluntary or personal capacity, we are looking for the right people to join our team of Targeted Youth Mentors.
You will work predominantly in the community and in schools, providing mentoring support on a one to one basis, groupwork and leading projects too. Each young person is different, so you will be creative, putting the interventions in place that are needed, liaising with other professionals and recording everything you do. Our work is spread across Nottinghamshire, with centres in Nottingham and Mansfield - you would be required to work in both centres. We are offering 12 month fixed term contracts initially with continuation based on on-going funding.
The salary is £22 - 24,000 pa for a full time role depending on experience, with the potential for career progression. A car with business insurance is necessary as you will be supporting and mentoring young people across Nottinghamshire.
We’d love to hear from you if you can:
- Bring out the best in young people
- See the positives when things get tough
- Are super organised
- Have great communication and admin skills
- Use a laptop in a paperless environment
