**The Role**:
An exciting vacancy has arisen for a Resilience Adviser (Emergency Planning & Exercising) within the Community Safety & Resilience Team. The role will support the Head of Service to ensure the Council has emergency plans in place that are regularly maintained, reviewed and tested.

Your workload will be interesting, varied, demanding and at some points, particularly when supporting the response to a Major Incident pressured and challenging.

This role will co-ordinate the factual account of the Council’s response to events during Covid-19, collecting and submitting evidence for the Cheshire & Warrington Covid-19 Inquiry. You will need to be practiced in Emergency Planning and experienced in how Emergency Planning operates within a Local Authority. The role requires a Working knowledge and understanding of part 1 Civil Contingencies Act (2004) & other associated emergency regulations (COMAH, Control of Major Accident Hazards, Pipeline Safety Regulations)

We are looking for someone who is:

- Confident and methodical in producing quality pieces of work.
- Experienced in managing sensitive information. You will fully understand the importance of confidentiality and you may be required to have Police security checks in order to access certain levels of information.
- Able to deal with Officers at all levels of the organisation in addition to Elected Members and the wider Public.
- Organised, with good communication skills, as you will be planning and delivering exercises.
- A forward thinker with the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative
- Has strong IT skills, particularly developing and maintenance of spreadsheets, databases, web based systems and e-learning tools
- Able to attend meetings across the Borough and across Cheshire as a partner within the Cheshire Resilience Forum.
- Flexible and committed to the role and the team.

The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post.
